The Furniture Artist

When Rush Creek was starting the interior design work, we had these great ideas but a limited number of craftsman that knew how to make the “look”. We wanted steel cages for the bars and heavy, vintage inspired lights. We also wanted live edge tasting tables made from local trees and more. We were thinking about rolling back our plans, then we found Jonathan.

“Whatever you need done, we can build it.” said Jonathan Sara of Respace Design. Respace Design (www.respaceinc.com) is a unique group of craftsmen led by Jonathan that works with all forms of metal and wood to make truly unique pieces.

Jonathan immersed himself in our design process improving ideas and innovating with new materials and exciting design results. Some of his steel pieces weigh tons and yet have the lightest touch of metal finish work. Among the many visual pieces he constructed, some of his Chandeliers are most exciting. You’ve got to see them.

There is an old term no longer used– “squarewright”. It is the name of craftsman from the middle ages of Europe’’s great renaissance that added art to furniture, metal tools, and all things for the home or business. Jonathan, a craftsman that was our squarewright, is one of the reasons you will enjoy your visit to Rush Creek Distilling even more.
