Bourbon Recipes
Blue Jay Bourbon Sour
- 1.5 oz preferred Rush Creek Bourbon
- ¼ oz squeezed lemon juice
- ¼ oz squeezed lime juice
- ½ oz squeezed orange juice
- 1 oz cherry syrup
- In a rocks glass, squeeze lemon, lime, and orange juices. Add the bourbon and cherry syrup-stir. Fill with ice. Garnish with a Bada Bing Cherry and lime wedge
Forrest Downs Maple Old Fashioned
- 2 oz 16% Rye Bourbon
- 3-4 dashes Angostura Bitters
- ½ tsp Maple Syrup
- 2-3” piece of Orange peel
- Top w/ a Press
- In a Single glass, add Bourbon, bitters, and syrup. Twist the Orange peel to release the oils and add peel to drink. Stir and add ice. Top with a Press.
- Garnish with a Bourbon Soaked Cherry
Admiral Bourbon Margarita
- 2 oz Wheated Bourbon
- 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 1 oz Agave Syrup
- Add ice and all ingredients to a shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds; strain, and pour into a rocks glass.
- Garnish with a floating lime wheel.
Blaine Blackberry Bourbon Smash
- 1.5 oz 16% Rye Bourbon
- 1 oz Blackberry Syrup*
- .5 oz Lemon Juice
- Sprig of Rosemary
- Soda
- Add ice and all ingredients to a shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds; strain, and pour into a rocks glass.
Bourbon Cider Smash
- 2 oz Rush Creek Wheated Bourbon (also great with Rush Creek Vanilla Vodka)
- 1/2 tablespoon apple butter
- 2 oz apple cider
- 3/4 oz Rush Creek Bourbon Barreled Maple Syrup
- Shake all ingredients over ice and pour into a rocks glass
- Garnish with a cinnamon sprinkle
Banana Old Fashioned
- 1.5 oz Rush Creek Honey Barreled Bourbon
- 1 oz Banana Simple Syrup*
- 0.25 oz Maple Syrup
- 7 Dashes Black Walnut Bitters
- Orange Slice
- Bourbon Soaked Cherry
- Topped with Soda
- Muddle Honey Bourbon, banana syrup, bitters, maple syrup, orange slice, and cherry in the bottom of a glass, add ice, and top with soda.
Bourbon Spiked Sweet Tea
- 1.5 oz Rush Creek Honey Barreled Bourbon (or try with RCD Vodka!)
- 0.5 oz Lemon Juice
- 1 oz Honey Simple Syrup*
- Topped with Chilled Green Tea
- Add Bourbon, lemon juice, and honey simple syrup into a glass with ice and give a quick stir or toss. Fill remainder of glass with green tea and garnish with a floating lemon wheel.
Classic Mint Julep
- 1.5 oz Rush Creek 25% Wheat Bourbon
- 3 large fresh mint leaves for muddling
- 0.75 oz Mint Simple Syrup*
- 1.5-3 oz water (to taste)
- 1 lime wedge, squeezed
- Muddle Rush Creek 25% Wheat Bourbon, fresh mint and Mint Simple Syrup together in the bottom of a glass. Fill glass half full with ice and stir. Fill remainder of the glass with ice.
Old Fashioned
- 1.5 oz Rush Creek Wheat Bourbon
- 2 Cherries
- 1 Orange Slice
- 1 Sugar Cube
- 3-4 Dashes Bitters
- Topped with a Press, unless specified Sweet (Sprite), Not Sweet (Soda), or Sour (Squirt)
- Muddle Bourbon, cherries, orange slice, sugar cube, and bitters. Fill glass with ice. Top with a Press, unless otherwise stated.
Double Oak Old Fashioned
- 1.5 oz Rush Creek Double Oak Bourbon
- 4-5 Dashes Orange Bitters
- 1 Sugar Cube
- 1 oz Bourbon Cherry Juice
- 1 Orange Slice
- 1 Bourbon Soaked Cherry
- Muddle all ingredients, bruising the cherry just slightly.. Fill glass with ice. Top with a Press, unless specified Sweet (Sprite), Not Sweet (Soda), or Sour (Squirt).
Whiskey Sour
- 2 oz preferred Rush Creek Bourbon
- 1 oz Simple Syrup*
- ¾ oz Fresh Lemon Juice (about ¼ of a lemon)
- Fill a rocks glass with ice and add all ingredients. Give a quick stir or toss.
- Garnish with a cherry and orange slice.
Black & Gold
- 1.5 oz Rush Creek Wheated Bourbon
- Spoonful of blackberries
- Fill glass with ice
- Top with lemonade & stir
- Garnish with fresh rosemary sprig & fresh blackberry
Hutchinson Hot Toddy
- 1.25 oz Rush Creek Honey Bourbon
- 1.25 oz Malabar Spiced Liqueur
- 3⁄4 oz Lemon Juice
- 1 oz Cinnamon Simple Syrup*
- Add all ingredients to a mug. Top with hot water. Garnish with a thin floating lemon wheel.
